Reflect on the needs of your soul -->

with you in mind – my 2014 vision for blogging

with you in mind – my 2014 vision for blogging

As I wrote this post, it dawned on me that I haven’t always been this clear (or confident) about a particular vision.

This lack often came from apologizing for my gifts or how I’m wired, and basically not owning my calling.  It’s an incredibly easy trap to fall into, you know.

But as last year unfolded, several things happened (mentioned here in this post) which literally forced me to clarify just what I was doing in this cyber space spot.

I write for ONE primary purpose here on Domestic:

I want to INSPIRE you.

I want to be a voice clearly affirming that YES, you absolutely can do this —

this mothering, this homeschooling, this walk with God, this running of your home, or whatever it is you live out in the day to day.

The world doesn’t need more carbon copies of me, so I’m not expecting anyone to do exactly what I do, or how I choose to do it.

But through sharing my life, and what fills our days (it’s just a peek remember!), I invite you to sit back and consider yours.

To dig deeper into just how you approach caring for yourself, your soul, and the people and family around you.  To align yourself with God’s vision for you, and to then courageously live it out with joy!

When I think of blogging and writing…it’s most definitely an overflow of my life.  So in 2014, I write to encourage you from who I am.

And just who am I?

I am a wife, mother and homemaker.

These are my favorite roles (and my favorite people)!  I’m passionate about giving my best to my marriage and motherhood, and creating a lifestyle which reflects our priorities.

While I drop the ball often, it’s still my pursuit!

Here on Domestic, you’ll find inspirational and practical encouragement to focus on your primary relationships, to keep house with a sense of awe, and to organize and manage your home and resources well.

Since we’re a homeschooling family, and I’m also incredibly passionate about the education of children, I’ll share peeks into our learning lifestyle.

I’m called to a local community.  I am their leader and friend.

I work alongside my husband in leading our congregation, and it’s a role I’ve freshly RE-embraced (if there is such a word)!

This community is one I love, care for, support and nurture through a variety of ways, and we’re on the receiving end of it as well.  From this foundation, I’ll write to encourage you to look outside of your family…

…outside of your doors to IMPACT those around you.

In whatever ways you can, however small or seemingly insignificant, I’ll gently challenge you to think outside of your own, and to touch the life of others.

I am a writer and called to this online community.

I cannot NOT write.

Alongside the above priorities, this too, fills my days.  You may not have passion for writing, but there might be something, right?

Some idea, a driving energy, a burning concern or vision that just won’t let go of you.  Your life is dedicated to it, or perhaps you’re wishing it was.

It could be exactly what you already do.  Whatever moves you and must find space in your days, I want to inspire you to pursue it — with vision, with purpose.

: :

I wish I could promise you 3 square posts per week, all on time – every time.

It won’t happen.

I wish I could say I live out all of the above with a stellar track record.

I don’t.  We’ve talked about this, right?

But I will always write with YOU in mind.

I’ll write these words of inspiration and application, hoping you’ll find a nugget here or there to take with you.  And if you care to….I welcome a nugget or two of your thoughts as well!

Always feel free to comment or email.

I’m looking forward to this year of blogging & writing – I think it’s going to be pretty fabulous!

SO glad you’re on the journey as well. 🙂

Daniele, your blog is one of my favorite places to visit when inspiration is desperately needed! And you always point your readers to The Lord!

I do know what you mean about needing to know your purpose in blogging… I have to regroup every once in a while and really think about the “why” of it all. My meandering brain can SOOO easily find a bunny trail to explore! 😀 This time of year, I’m usually reading half a dozen books on living intentionally! (Along with a few “Get Your Act Together Declutter Organize Simplify” books!)

    Have a blessed day!
