Come away to rest. Yes, you.

Come away….come away.  Rest for a while.

I ask a question today…

When was the last time you rested?

True, bonafide REST.  A coming away from the fullness of life :: a temporary pause for the purpose of refreshment.  Saying ‘no’ to the urgent and embracing the ‘yes’ of rest.

Allowing weariness to command our days lends to more weariness, not productiveness.  What a false assumption that we can continue without pause.  Spirits wither, emotions are unbalanced, we burn out.

God is not honored in this process.  He is ignored.

So, I ask again…

When was the last time you rested?
