A Peek into Last Week :: whole 30 week one, my Erin Condren planner, road trip prep, and a TEDx Talk!

Last week was FULL, ya’ll.

(Yes, I just said ya’ll.  Preparing for our road trip to Texas this summer!  Plus, it’s where I was raised and so the words are in my blood.)

The last post introduced my Whole 30 journey and how day one went.  I’m here to report that the rest of the week continued to go well!  I experienced a slight headache on day 3 and incredible tiredness over the weekend for days 6 and 7.

According to Whole 30’s timeline, this is all normal.  Thankfully, I did NOT feel like ‘killing all things’ as they described for days 4 & 5 (whew).

Meat was not present at every meal, though protein made an appearance for each one — a Whole 30 requirement.  Especially helpful (and pictured above) were my GoStak containers for packing snacks like boiled eggs, cucumbers, almonds and more for the road.

I am looking forward to week #2, which will be a *bit* challenging with a camping trip.  But, I am planning around this.

Speaking of which…

I am still very much in love with my Erin Condren life planner, and use it regularly (use this referral link for $10 off your first EC order).  For me, it’s a fun way to catalog our family life and plans with some flair.

Last week I spent extra time decorating a bit, which means stickers or washi tape, and it feels a bit like scrapbooking to me.  In my former life this was a much-enjoyed hobby.

Over the summer, I’ll blog about some NEW planning systems (because I am always tweaking!) and how I organize my days overall.

The week also held a few meetings as we close out our church ministry work for a season, planning the summer road trip, my husband officiating the wedding of two dear people from church…

…plenty of home life tasks to care for, and I somehow snuck in a Redbox movie as well!  Highly recommended this one. 🙂

A major highlight of last week was definitely the release of our 16 year old’s TEDx talk on YouTube.  We are SO very proud of her and have been sharing the news ever since.  Should you have 15 minutes and want to be inspired to take courageous leaps in life…do check it out (a link for email readers).

The full video is below — have a GREAT week everyone!

She did great. And, I would like to know more about what she is involved in because my son would probably benefit from this as well. He is only 11, but this would be a good fit for him maybe once he is more of age. What an inspir a tion your daughter is.
