I’ve reviewed some pretty fabulous products, ones that I’ve been head over heels about. But…
When I learned our family was receiving the Waterproof Bible, I had a feeling we were in for a special treat. My current Bible is really worn, with creased pages and smudges and light stains, so I was really intrigued about this Bible printed on 100% plastic.
The material is both waterproof inside and out? And tear and stain resistant? Really?
Come to find out, thinking it was just special was an understatement – it’s amazing!
The Waterproof Bible Features
I didn’t know what to expect at first and wondered how the pages of this Bible would feel and look like. I even wondered if they would be easy to turn, picturing something as tough and rough.
Here are basic features:
100% synthetic pages
pages are stronger than paper & durable – not glossy, but smooth
and they lay nice & flat!
pages are usable with writing utensils (ballpoint pen, pencil or dry highlighter)
cover comes in variety of colors & can be customized
Bible available in a variety of versions – ESV, NIV, KJV, NKJV, NLT, NASB
Just who could use a Waterproof Bible anyway?
Besides my boys, who were happy to pose — those in the military, anyone who enjoys outdoor activities...think camping, fishing, boating, hunting, and more!…and would like to take the Word along. Or Moms with little kiddos and homes filled with spill-potential just about anywhere.
It’s a Bible made for extreme weather and environments, and an excellent gift-giving idea!
Putting the Waterproof Bible to Test
Yep. We submerged the whole Bible into water! And yes, after wiping it down with a cloth and squeezing it a few times (the water oozed out the sides of the Bible), we laid it to dry. Quickly, within minutes, the pages began to return to normal.
After about 15 minutes, you couldn’t tell it was ever wet. The pages lay flat and everything was dry, dry, dry. Amazing!
My children were excited to prove our new Bible could live up to the claim of being stain-free. We decided on pomegranate juice and orange juice and peanut butter…
Honestly, we all had a hard time at first purposefully spilling stuff on The Bible! 🙂 Around here, God’s Word is given special care and attention. Curiosity won out though, and we were eager to try out the stain-free feature.
The kids had lots of fun making a video (and Mom counted it as a homeschool project). I thought they did a fantastic job!
See how cool? Everything wiped off with NO problem…no stains, no smears, no residue or smudges. This Bible is fantastic! – we’re thrilled to own one. Also check out other reviews from my friends Kim at Not Consumed and Megan at Homeschoolin Mama.
Just think of how you might could use one or gift one to somebody. To sweeten that idea, here’s a FREE shipping code to use when you order a Bible: freeship4 (doesn’t expire until December 31, 2012).

Great giveaway. I’d love this Bible to take camping. Also thinking it’s be a great gift for hunters in our family. Thank you for the fun review and giveaway.
I think this would be a great gift for my brother. He works in agriculture and being able to not worry about his Bible in the truck during farm visits in all weather would be great. He also has his quiet time in the garden and early morning dew and sprinklers would not have to be a concern any more.
(For myself, I love the ability to wipe on/off underlining and comments for study. It would save the cost of buying new Bibles for each new Bible study so that I approach the Word with new eyes unbiased by previous markings.)
What an amazing idea! I loved the video too. Your children are great! Thanks for sharing.
Who to give it to… that is a hard one as I have 4 boys that I’d love to give this Bible to. I think I would make it a family Bible that we took with us while camping and hunting.
LOVE this! I have several seminary/pastor friends who spend long hours in their Bibles with coffee in hand. They’d love this!
This would be awesome for our family! A drool-proof, tear-proof and spill-proof Bible would be put to the test around here. 🙂
Daniele, would you believe I do not own a bible? I am always borrowing my husband’s or children’s! Waterproof? Sounds as it is made for me (as I am bound to use it in the kitchen where I practically spend all of my days – Smiles-)
That marvelous grin…Does he smile like this for you all the time?
A happy child is a sure sign of a happy home!
Priceless!
Many thanks for the kind opportunity and God bless,
The first person that came to mind is my husband
This sounds SOOOO cool!! Thanks for the opportunity to win a Waterproof Bible!! 🙂
Blessings!
I love the idea of giving this to a man or woman in military service! That’s why I entered. 🙂
What a cool Bible. I am definitely going to spend some time looking at them.
Love the waterproof bible. This would make a wonderful gift for my son that loves to read (bible included!) and loves the outdoors. It would make a great addition to his “survival” kit.
Wow, I didn’t know a Bible like this was even available! I would probably keep it for my family- give to my six year old son.
Oh! This is just what Winter has hoped for to read during her daily (sometimes more than once daily) medical bath-treatments. She has to spend so much time in the tub and then in wet socks on her arms. Oooh, hoping hoping for a NKJV!
I would give it to my daughter away at college. Her Bible is the most worn out frayed Bible I have ever seen. She uses it all the time and takes it everywhere.
What a great way to help make a Bible last throughout the ages! Amazing! I would give this Bible to my young daughter.
Why, me of course 😉
I would give it to my hubby to read at work.
This looks like the perfect bible for my husband or any other military member. It might actually survive a deployment.
This Bible would be perfect for my son. He is a Boy Scout and takes his Bible with him all the time. He likes the ESV the best.
I would give this to my husband, who is an active duty Marine, he travels all over the nation and next year back to the middle east. He would love this
I’d love to give this to any one of my friends with children.
I would send it to my sister in Indonesia! Then she wouldn’t have to worry about rain, flooding, dirt or her 4 children under 6 ruining it!
I saw this (or similar) in our church’s bookstore a few months back… LOVE!!! Perfect for a beach getaway or… motherhood!
Oh Danielle, I’m very intrigued with this Bible, especially since my darling 1 year old daughter tore a page out of my Bible while I was reading to the kids this morning…
My sister just moved to Hawaii to work on a cruise line. Needless to say, she will be in and around a lot of water! This Bible would be perfect for her!
I would gift this to our family. With four kids 7 years down to 4 years it would be GREAT!! So nice to have at campfires and on picnics too! 🙂
First time I saw this Bible I thought how great it would be for youth camp! Have you seen some kids Bibles when they get home after a week of taking there Bible with them to every activity at camp? Not a pretty site!
Wow! Amazing Bible! I’m such a klutz so this Bible is definitely for me!
Amazing!!! This would be the best for my 14 year old boy. He destroyed his bible at his Royal Ranger Campout because it was so hot, and it poured down rain on them. This would be wonderful if I could win this for him.
If I could gift the Waterproof Bible, it would become community property among my friends and family. Anytime someone goes on a trip near water (beach, cruise, lake house, etc.), they could take the Waterproof Bible to read for personal study or for reference during discussions.
I would give it to my boys to use with abandon, with no worries about taking special care with it. But I have to admit, I’d use it any time I got the chance! 🙂
CUTE little boy, BTW!
I would love to win one of these. I’ve looked at them at the bookstore, and they seem amazing. After your post, I’m even more convinced!
This looks amazing between messy kids and this forgetful mama (who is known to leaving books outside!) We would love this bible. I loved the video you kids did a great job!!
hmm, if i could gift this, i would give it to a friend who loves to hike and camp. but really, if i won, i’d be keeping it for myself. 🙂
Wow, I just happened to see this on amazon for the first time last night, and here you are giving one away! I would give this to my brother-in-law, who is a boat captain, and who is struggling in his walk with the Lord. I don’t think he owns a bible!
i’d love to give this
as a Christmas gift
to my youngest son.
{alison}
I would give it to my brother and sister in law. They have 3 kids under 3.
who to give it to? my wife!
Even though I have 3 active kids and a hubby in the military, I could see this as being wonderful for me–I may be the least active, but I’m definitely the most clumsy! Certainly a good kitchen bible! To give one? I would probably give to my hubby–seems like a great deployment bible!
This would be excellent for my family! Probably best for my hubby in his vehicle.
My husband!
My beloved husband would get it as a gift.
This is awesome. I would like to have one for my husband and son to take on Boy Scout camp outs!
I’d probably want to keep it for myself, but next in line would be my outdoorsy son and my dad.
Awesome! Having 4 children under 8 this would be GREAT!!
What a great gift these will make at Christmas!! And I can think of one lady at church that I have spilled my coffee on her Bible….not once, but twice! She needs one, too!
This is great! My husband takes his Bible to work in his lunchbox. It often gets damp and damaged.
I would gift it to my niece, so when she carries bit she wouldn’t worry about getting it ruined.
I love how your bible talks! Thank you!
I would gift one to my sister-in-law, she has two very busy boys to keep up with. 😉
Thanks for a chance to own this – I would give it to my 14-year-old son, who is outdoors a lot. The Word really does endure!!!
I would gift it to my brother who spends almost every weekend on his boat with his son (and mine too sometimes!)I can see it used in many “manly” discussions. 😉
[…] new, but my kiddos were wild with excitement to hear that the Waterproof Bible folks had watched their video and shared it with their audience via Twitter! I chuckled at their enthusiasm…a fun […]
