“So, how are your homeschool plans coming along?”
It’s a question asked rather innocently in this middle-of-dinner prep conversation. And I stir pots and watch temperatures, chop salad and think on those words.
How are my plans going? Somewhat wobbly, to be honest. I think of encouragement written just a short time ago and contemplate how I need to ‘ease-it-up’ just a little for homeschool happiness to continue.
Plans. Goals. Dreams. Vision.
We lay out plans for our lives and the various aspects of it :: for our marriages, our family, each child in particular, our home life. We tackle everything from relationships to business with the big picture in mind, often broken down into small steps to be taken daily.
As a whole, we’re fairly obsessed with planning. But wisdom demands that we really should and must think ahead.
I’m a planner by nature — surely, I was born with pencil and paper in hand! The issue is not to debate God-given characteristics or how each of us goes about reaching goals in life. Whether we use the back of a napkin or a detailed management system is a matter of preference.
What is of importance though, is that our plans serve a purpose.
More specifically, the purposes of God.
