Reflect on the needs of your soul -->

the practice of {being peace}

the practice of {being peace}

We speak often of being at peace…

having peace :: wanting it, seeking it.

Have we considered also simply being peace?

I’ve been thinking on this lately, how Peace lives in me.

How a God of perfect calm chooses to make residence in this sometimes chaotic and restless soul of mine.  He chose this — the Prince of Peace, ultimate serenity, making home within.

Amazing, isn’t it?

So when I offer here a book on REST, on necessary pause in our lives, I think too on how we need to walk this peace thing out deliberately.  For those in Christ offer an incredible gift :: to bring peace.  Isn’t this what He blesses?

“Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.” (Matthew 5:9 NIV)

Does it mean we change our bubbly, outgoing personalities?  No...

That we never confront or speak up?  Hardly…

To me, the practice of being peace is being aware, and intentional, about leaving others with a sense of calm after having been around us.  Giving, sharing this peace within wherever we go.

We can do this through listening, talking, through a laugh-until-you-cry outing with a friend.  You’ve probably received the compliment at some point ~ “oh thank you…I just feel so much better now!”

This, my friend, is being peace.  Calming the waters for another, offering REST to their situation.

The point is not only seeking serenity for ourselves.  We receive to also give away.

So consider today :: how and where can you be peace?
