So I made a list of goals for the month of January, participating in the 3 in 30 challenge.
Three goals to meet every thirty days. Very attainable, right? Let’s see how I did:
- Drinking green smoothies :: started out very strong! Then a need to cut fruit out of my diet for a time upset this goal. But overall, not too bad.
- Staying consistent with Time Budget :: I created a new schedule of sorts after reading Tell Your Time back in November and have been literally astounded at the results! This month’s goal was to stay consistent, which went very well. We had a definite rhythm to our days before, but this little e-book helped me to recommit to priorities and fine tune. Super job here!
- Selling items on Craigslist or eBay :: did not happen, no excuses. I am just not motivated enough to go through the hoops of listing items. So, almost all have been bagged up and will be given away save a few things.
Okay, not too bad for January. I was inspired and encouraged by a portion of Romans 5:4 where the Scripture states ‘perseverance builds character’. It seemed much easier to come up with new goals or projects during the month than to stick with accomplishing the original ones! Hmm…must grow in perseverance. Well, moving on to February’s goals:
- We’ve already started thinking and talking a little about next year’s homeschool plans. Just thinking aloud some. As goal #1, I want to read & finish A Charlotte Mason Companion this month.
- I plan to make notes and jot down thoughts. Our style is a mix of classical education and a Charlotte Mason approach {with a bit of unschooling thrown in as well?} and I’ve not read this book before.
- Goal #2 has to do with our finances and working towards our BHAG {pronounced bee-hag it stands for Big Hairy Audacious Goal}. I first heard of the term from Crystal Paine in regard to setting a financial objective to meet :: well, we did that this year! A really large goal, and in February I want to move an extra 5% towards that end.
- And lastly {I tell you, it’s hard to narrow it down to three!}, this month I’ll work at getting 7-8 hours of sleep nightly. Insomnia has been an issue the last several months and I am beginning to rest again! This month, I want to keep a consistent bedtime routine and to sleep well.
Okay, there we have it!
