One day when I am old,
I would like very much to sit by a fire (in winter) or on the veranda (in summer),
and spin. Yes, spin…raw wool in hand shaping, stretching..
becoming.
And afterwards, I shall weave it.
Pulling, pressing…
making into.
Yes, I should like this very much…
one day when I am old.
For now, we weave on smaller looms and play with wool and fiber.
And this is just fine…for now.

{photos of our state’s annual ‘sheep to shawl’ competition; contestants have 2.5 hrs to shear the sheep, card the wool, spin it and weave into a shawl to later auction off — fascinating, I fell in love. So did my kiddo…and the weaving loom came out of the closet.}
Grace to your weekend friends…
Next week, the promised file folder system post is coming!
What a great post and wonderful pictures… Wonderfully becoming, that’s what I am thinking about these days!
Fantastic article, really good pictures too. From Sheep field to wooly jumper!
