My husband and I have had the awesome privilege of walking many couples through pre-marital counseling and really, it’s been a significant highlight of our pastoral work!

One solid piece of advice shared with each and every couple?

Don’t listen when others say marriage is drudgery, or that the sparks will fade after time.  Marriage will take intentional focus, but it can be fabulously wonderful!

And I believe this with all of my heart…

My marriage has been far from perfect, and yet, it’s been one of the most stabilizing parts of my life.

Especially over the last two years, as we faced difficult challenges of situations swirling around us, I’ve often paused to give thanks for my husband’s support.

In the intensity of those situations…day after day at times…he had my back, and I had his.  Yes, there were differences of opinion and sometimes conflict arose between us! But overall, our roots have grown are growing deeper…and our marriage is strengthened.

Through these years of establishing strong foundations for couples, and building up our own marriage for the long haul, I’ve come to realize just how passionate I am for happy, healthy marriages.

So when Fawn Weaver, author of the NEW book release Happy Wives Club, wrote and asked if I’d be part of her book launch team and blog tour, I ecstatically accepted!

Fawn has created a wonderful community of like-minded women, all focused on enriching and growing their marriages…and spreading the news.  She took this community one step further and traveled the world (literally) to find out what makes up a great marriage.

The result?  Her book – Happy Wives Club.  View the trailer below (email readers, click on over to the blog).

One of my 2014 blogging ministry goals (and also church ministry goals) is to share more resources, more encouragement, and more affirmation for you to grow and thrive in your marriages.

I believe Christian women have opportunity to demonstrate to the onlooking world (including other Christians), that healthy, incredibly happy relationships between couples still exist — they haven’t died out.

If you’re married, I hope you’ll join me on this adventure!

Hi Daniele! I’m so excited about this project. My husband and I have been married for 17 years and have had the opportunity to encourage younger married couples. It’s a privilege I don’t take lightly and know each time I share Christ as the foundation of my marriage, He continues to strengthen our bond. Yes!The roots are growing deeper. Have a great week!ReplyCancel

We have been married for 35 years. Our children are grown and now that we have time for us our relationship and love has grown so deep that it can only be God. I am so thankful daily for this incredible gift of closeness and happiness. It is not something that can be described. My husband is my whole world outside of my Christian walk. I wish this for all couples. If we could overcome our early years of selfishness, with God’s help, then any couple who will work at it can do so, too.ReplyCancel
