If you’ve been here before, you’ve noticed that I’m a planner.
In fact this month, many of my posts have been about plans :: homeschooling plans for the preschooler, my huge and ultimate guide to creating home management notebooks, homeschooling plans for the 9th grader {which was recently updated!}…
…and this week will bring our homeschooling plans for the 1st and 4th grader.
There’s a whole lot I’d like to accomplish — and I’d rather not do it all running around like a chicken with my head cut off!
No need to aim for perfection, but a good God-honoring plan is the backbone to how we run our days around here. And yes, sometimes…the chicken in us does come out. 🙂

Introduce My Well Planned Day software – a incredible help to this homeschool Mom.
Here’s a SNAPSHOT into what Well Planned Day offers:
- fully customizable planning
- organize lesson plans, curriculum lists
- assignments, activities & grading
- plan menus and grocery shopping
- keep up with kid’s chores & responsibilities
- manage the family’s calendar…
- …and budgets and bills
and there’s more!
:: ::
I definitely steer towards paper planning, but having online and readily available access to those plans is also ideal.
The initial set-up took focus and time {note to self: don’t try setting this up when the kids are hungry for lunch}. There are tutorials and helps to make the job easier however.
My favorite part of using this software will be:
- generating reports for our homeschool portfolios
- customizing lists to fit our family & homeschooling
- keeping all of our planning year to year
I’m still learning my way around this software, and there are several updates upcoming. I anticipate it will get more user-friendly and the learning curve will lessen as time goes on. I’m definitely willing to stick with it!
Check out the many screenshots and features and also a free online tutorial of My Well Planned Day. Maybe it will work for you?
Priced at less than $6 a month for a full year’s access, the software’s annual cost of $65 isn’t over-the-top. But, want to sweeten the purchase?
Here’s a $15 OFF coupon code just for my readers — 20wpdblog12 (case sensitive, no spaces). This code doesn’t expire until October 1, 2012!

I am notorious for having multiple notebooks going at one time with all my planning, it would be a huge help to have everything in one place!
I would love a place to have everything in one place, I have a planner for homeschool lesson plans and field trips, one for when bills are due, a online calendar for family activities and other things…would be awesome to have one place for everything!!

I use a print planner and would love to try to move online!
I like to be organized, and I waver between online vs. pen and paper. This may be what I need. I wonder if an iphone app is coming…
It would take care of all my household and homeschool tracking needs in mobile-accessible place! How awesome!
I am looking forward to it helping me keep my four kids, doing three different schedules organized!
Hopefully, it would help me organize my entire life in one place! How wonderful!
This combines many of the apps I use plus my paper planner into one! AND I can use it on my iPad!!

Im looking forward to the mobile app that’s coming and having everything all in one place
I have been eye-balling the “Well Planned Day” products for a few months now. I have five kids, ages 6 1/2 down to 8 weeks, two of them are doing school this year. I am NOTORIOUS for not being able to juggle more than a couple things at a time, and I think a planner this detailed would be a lifesaver! My biggest challenge is juggling my kids’ emotional/spiritual/education needs with the needs of keeping my home. Any organization I find that works, I hang on to for dear life!
I just discovered your blog today and love it! 🙂 Thanks for sharing yourself!
A tool to help me organize and keep better track wouldbe wonderful.
It would help me plan my daughter’s school and keep things ready for husband’s work and help with meal planning
Organization and quick access would be a great asset and direction as I school our 4 kids this year, especially as my oldest will graduate this year.
This would help me with homeschool planning and grading.
It would help me keep my schedule in line with my husbands and family’s schedules and help me have everything right at my finger tips (mobile app).
I love how you can bump an assignment you didn’t get to to the next day! Can wait to get my hands on this!!!
I so want to try this software, just can’t quite pull the trigger on the price!
I have 2 teens and 2 elementary children, and this will help bridge the gap! : )
[…] of homeschool prepping, planning and beginnings — I’ve focused on offering plans and resources to help your year. Today, one more? […]
If I have to pick just one way it would help me, I would say having everything in one place. No more lost papers, notebooks, appt. info etc.
I have used the WPD paper planner for two years now and have investigated the online version extensively. All I can say is, “WOW”!

We order the software to see if it could help us keep better track of lesson plans, grades, extracurricular activities, and evne the budget. I am sitting down this week (starting tonight) to see if it’ll work for us. It looks promising… 🙂
Love how it puts all my hats in one place.
I love MWD software! It makes it so much easier to plan lessons.
It would help keep my life organized.
I would love to have this planner software for creating and scheduling lesson plans!
I have papers allover the house trying to plan my days it would be great to have it all in one place, and not drawn all over by my 3yr old budding artist!
I would love to have all the organization the software offers!
I so need this to try. With three kids and hardly any time to sit down I feel so behind in my planning for this year. My phone is always with me and although it will be awkward to use on it until they release an app, I could at least grab a few minutes here and there whever I can to try to get organized. Thanks for the chance.
I would most like the lesson planning feature. What a great help it would be!
It would help me plan (once the functionality is there) while I am away from home.
We’re adding another child to our homeschool day this year. With 4 kids to school, I sure could use the help of a great organizational tool.
I am so disorganized by nature, lol! Thankfully our curriculum, Time4Learning (www.time4learning.com), does all of my core lesson planning for me, but this looks like it would be an excellent resource for me for everything else! 🙂
Thanks so much!
Katie
I prefer an actual “book” planner, but this looks like it would be extremely helpful, as I like to keep track of things on my computer as well.
This planner would help me get our busy lives a bit less busy. We just had our 4th baby. And I will be starting school again in a few weeks with our 7 year old (2nd grade) and 4 year old (Pre-K/K) plus keeping our 2 year old entertained and of course loving on our newborn. Life is busy right now and I could use all the help I can get. 😀
Currently I have plans, notes or lists on my computer, paper, notebook, or calendar. It would be great to have it all in one place AND to have it on software is even better! Harder to lose that way!
This is the year that we decide if I can organize myself enough to homeschool my kids–this looks like it would help!
I loved the paper version of this planner last year, but really like how this incorporates even more home management with the homeschool management. And it’s all in one place!
Love that it is all in one place. 🙂 I also love that they are all about the consumer!!!
Thanks for the giveaway!
Blessings!
Looking forward to it working together with my iphone and calendar.
What a HUGE help this would be to schedule everything out in one place! Thank you for the opportunity to try to win it, and thank you for creating it.
I would love to have everything in one place!
Are you still using MWPD? I, like you, loved this at first but after almost two full school years of trying to make this software work for me I am ready to throw in the towel. It is still not a fully functioning online planner. Have you had others share this experience? I would love to see some online reviews that are more recent than fall of 2012. Thanks for your thoughts.
Hi Deb – no, I am not using this planner anymore, and I didn’t for too long as I returned to paper planning. You could ask Home Educating Family questions on their FB page?, and a Google search led to a few reviews in 2013 (from personal users). I’m not linking them here, but I did find them. Sorry to hear you had so much trouble! That’s disappointing.
