Introducing Advanced Penny Pinching :: a review & giveaway!

Are you ready to get super serious about saving $$$ on groceries?
Or maybe you’re a beginner in the whole idea of slashing food shopping costs by 25%, 50% or more?

***

If you’d like some tips & tricks of the trade, let me share — Advanced Penny Pinching might just be a book to help you out.

Before launching into aspects of Tabitha’s book, let me introduce just where I’m at on the spectrum of penny pinching divas.

I’m no stranger to stockpiling {conservatively!}, menu planning, or freezer cooking.  Last year I wholeheartedly played the ‘drugstore game’ and spent only $27 for about 8 months worth of toiletries for the family.  Once, I snagged 220 diapers on Amazon for $5 by combining subscribe & save and topping it off using Swagbucks.

I’ve been pleased with my money-saving efforts.  So, I was intrigued to see what tips would be found in this book!

I was not disappointed.

Advanced Penny Pinching goes beyond general grocery cuts and introduces in detail numerous ways to save at the store.  There are three parts to this ebook, each giving the reader much to think about & try out:

  • how being prepared is key to saving
  • specific strategies to help save $$$ on food costs
  • overlooked {or new!} ways to save

Some of my favorite sections were on using Amazon to shop for groceries, how to and how NOT to use wholesale stores, 7 ways to eat less meat, the produce by season list, and the many tips on other ways to save like the aforementioned Swagbucks and also Recyclebank.  Those I knew, but the book offers a few more as well!

Though it doesn’t have much to do with saving $$$ directly, I appreciated and laughed through Tabitha’s thoughts on debunking the show ‘Extreme Couponing’, explaining why she thinks it’s far from reality.

Need to take a peek at the book or would like to know more?  There’s a preview available as well as additional  info at her site.  Normally $5.99, it’s on sale now for $3.99 — that’s penny pinching right there. 🙂

I am interested to see the tips on warehouse shopping and the produce by season list.
I also think the show extreme couponing is extreme and more about hoarding than food.ReplyCancel

Not sure why my ‘reply’ button isn’t working…
but to answer Lori about the sale – not sure, her site doesn’t say, but you could contact her directly to ask.

Just a note that even as a person who’s learned quite a bit about saving on groceries, I found new nuggets in this book. Yes, some I knew already, but other parts I was encouraged to consider.

    Hope whoever wins enjoys it!ReplyCancel
