In the midst,
always…always,
pause to give thanks. To offer words of gratitude, of deep appreciation for the good.
The small things, the big events, the mundane and ordinary,
the extraordinary.
Cultivate an atmosphere of recognition for these gifts.
So today, in the midst, I give thanks for ::
the dandelion days of summer, moving ever so swiftly
little boy loving the tent in his room, ‘camping’ every night
grandbaby boy pushing the clock ahead, turning one
swimming pool adventures with friends
our laid-back evenings, nature walks and talks
simple meals that feed and ease the load of making dinner
the sweet smell of flowers
for reminders of His call, His direction in our lives
reflecting on the journey that brought us to where we are
for innocent voices, laughter and child’s play
new spaces created in our home for the new school year
for the numerous other little things I often forget.
Grateful for such gifts.
