Reflect on the needs of your soul -->

don’t stay stuck in a dream, live it

don’t stay stuck in a dream, live it

I’ve been thinking on these words I wrote last year…

about the lives we choose, and the paths we take.  About how we often spend so much time dreaming instead of actually living our ideas, our plans, our God-ordained passions out.

In Christian circles I think it’s fair to say this line of thinking can be cloaked in subtle over-spirituality.  For really, we’re not supposed to be living our own plans, but God’s alone.

Why yes, of course.

But I guess I’m a believer that many times,

when we’re earnestly seeking God,

and asking questions of what HE would like us to do when,

our dreams are often the ones He’s given us.  They are His ideas for us.

I don’t claim to have it all figured out in my life, but I do believe it to be true.  I kinda think that when we seek first His kingdom, He’ll fill in the picture.

Hmmm…what do you think?

I read the post you linked to from before.
Oh, I think we’d be good friends!
I walked away from it all a few years ago.
I saw the contrast from all I had thought I wanted, to all I was dreaming of now at my 20th reunion. We’d sold our house in the city and were looking for a small farm. All my old classmates were stunned. I was a bit, too, being the girl who used to coordinate my earrings to my socks even if we were just going to go play soccer. 🙂
    That was two years ago.
We’re now living that dream. Though I find it not what I expected at all. And some days, I must admit, are a bit of a nightmare. But, here we are. Thanks for the reminder to keep that dream alive.ReplyCancel
