We had many more videos of our ski adventure than action shots — so stills will have to do for this space.
In place of individual Christmas gift giving this year (though the kids exchanged gifts with one another), we pulled all efforts into a family get-away of the outdoor variety. I was little nervous the children wouldn’t really get into the idea since none of us had been skiing before…
…then we waited and waited to see if details would actually work out. After thinking plans would definitely need to change, God arranged a modern-day miracle to make it all possible! I’m incredibly humbled and grateful He’s still in the business of doing those.
About 24 hours before departure, we broke the news to the kiddos. Slight pandemonium of excited voices (and shrieks!) confirmed to me that yes, they were thrilled for this opportunity. And don’t you worry one bit about pulling it all together – this Mama had been secretly getting ready all week.
Oh, and what fun we had! Abundant time for both indoor and outdoor family togetherness, much laughter, and many tired muscles. Some of us took to skiing like ducks to water, and others like a fish out of water! 🙂
That’s okay….we’re home with memories of another Christmas in which we all celebrated together.
Thank you Lord for this, your gift.
How wonderful that you were able to share that time together! That was a great idea! Happy New Year!
